Alternate Materials and Their Use in Historic Districts
This report was prepared for the Historic Preservation Office of the City of Columbus, Ohio which in 2013 was conducting a review of its existing design guidelines. At the request of the Historic Preservation Officer a survey was conducted of eight cities similar in size to Columbus to review the various approaches to the use of most common alternative materials used in historic districts.

The East Franklinton Creative Community District Plan was adopted by City Council on November 12, 2012. It establishes a vision for revitalization as an urban mixed use neighborhood, building upon East Franklinton’s history and recent efforts by the public and private sector and individuals to remake the neighborhood. This web page has been established to communicate the various initiatives underway in East Franklinton and will be updated on a regular basis.
