Mayor Coleman’s Neighborhood Pride program started the Neighborhood Pride Talent Search to outreach to talented Middle School aged students and provide them with opportunities to get more involved with their neighborhood and the Columbus Arts community at large.

Mayor Coleman with the 2008 Talent Students
In each of the six Pride areas, a servicing Columbus Public Middle School will select up to six students from either their talent show or classrooms in the following categories:
Instrumental Music Vocal Music Dance Acting Comedy (stand-up) Poetry / Spoken Word
The selected students will be required to agree to work with their community for service hours. In exchange, Neighborhood Pride Partners in the Columbus arts community offers classes, seminars, and mentoring opportunities to the students. In December, the students will represent their school and neighborhood at an event at the King Arts Complex for the Neighborhood Pride Holiday Gathering.
