A day of fun, education and safety for the entire family!

Wednesday, July 9 - Marion Franklin Recreation Center
Monday, August 4 - Barnett Recreation Center
Wednesday, August 13 - Dodge Recreation Center
Wednesday, August 20 - Feddersen Recreation Center

9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Animal Clinic

  • Low cost rabies vaccination clinic for cats and dogs (First come, first served)
  • Education about animal safety from Franklin County Animal Control and Columbus Public Health’s veterinarian.
  • Availability to purchase Franklin County Dog licenses

2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. - The Bicycle Safety Festival

  • Community Crime Patrol teach safe riding skills and instruction on correct hand signals as children ride through a Safety Town course.
  • Franklin County Animal Control, how to be safe around animals
  • Columbus Recreation and Parks department’s climbing wall
  • Children’s Hospital,  Columbus Public Health
  • The Fire Safe House and fire safety education from Columbus Division of Fire
  • The Columbus Police Officer as your friend

6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. - The Neighborhood Safety Academy

  • Classes from Division of Police’s Community Liaison Officers on how to empower citizens and keep themselves safe in every day situations.
  • Classes about Home Fire Safety from the Division of Fire
  • The Kids Academy offers Safety related programming for children age 5 and older.
  • Free dinner is served to attendees!
