Property Maintenance Appeals Board
The Property Maintenance Appeals Board (PMAB) consists of seven (7) members appointed by the Mayor that are qualified by training and experience to conduct hearings and render decisions on appeals of notices issued pursuant to the Columbus Housing Code, Health, Sanitation and Safety Code, Streets, Park and Public Properties Code and the Nuisance Abatement Code.
The current board members are Rasheeda Z. Khan, James A. Johnson, Walter McKinley,
Gina Hawthorne-Hill and Roy Johnson. The Board meets the second Monday of the month at 757 Carolyn Avenue at 1pm. For further information, please follow this link to the Property Maintenance Board Code or contact George Apostolos at 645-2397 or gjapostolos@columbus.gov Agenda and Results Safe Neighborhood Review Board The Safe Neighborhood Review Board (SNRB) is an administrative Board consisting of representatives from the following Divisions or Departments: Health, Neighborhood Services, Building Services, Fire, Police, Historic Preservation, Development Director's office, Area Commission and the general public. The Board hears cases referred by property maintenance inspectors and building inspectors. The Board determines if a vacant structure constitutes a public nuisance. If the Board determines a structure does constitute a public nuisance, it may order that the nuisance be alleviated in any number of ways, ranging from securing of the building to the demolition of the building. A decision by the Nuisance Abatement Board may be appealed to the Property Maintenance Appeals Board. The appeal must be in writing and submitted no later than 15 days after the service of the decision. Please contact us for dates and times of meetings.
