Description

The South Side Plan is the product of a public planning process conducted by the Department of Development, Planning Division.  A planning committee of community stakeholders worked with city staff to identify issues and establish goals for the planning area.  As a result of their work, policies were written to address land use and zoning; housing and residential districts; commercial and industrial development; parks and recreational facilities; streets, traffic and circulation; sewers and storm water drainage; urban design and streetscape improvements; and historic resources/preservation.

The Southside Plan Merion Village Schumacher Place Amendment was initated at the request of the Schumacher Place and Civic Association and the Merion Village Association.  Meetings and workshops were held with stakeholders to develop various potential land use ideas for Barrett Middle School and Beck Elementary School.
